How a ride works
Get a ride anywhere in Mauritius.
Start from where you are, a hotel, a town, an address, a point on the map or the airport, and choose where you are going. Ride now, or book ahead for a set time.
See your driver and the price before you book.
Every car is listed at its own driver’s price, with its class, rating and how far away it is. Set the people and bags, pick a car and slide to book. Prices show in rupees, euros, US dollars or pounds.
Watch your driver come to you on the map.
Drivers with that class of car or better are asked at once, and the first to accept takes the ride. You see who is coming, their car and plate, the minutes until they arrive and your ride code, and you can message or call them.
Follow your ride right from your lock screen.
Once your driver is on the way, the ride stays on your lock screen with the time you will arrive, so the phone can go back in your pocket.
Rate the ride and say what went well.
Pay your driver at the end, then give stars, tick what you liked, from a clean car to help with bags, and leave a note. Drivers earn their badges from what riders praise.

Travel agencies, hotels and companies book under one account in the app. Invite employees by email, add clients with their agreement, and pay for work rides from a company wallet so nobody pays the driver.

What is alé?
alé is a taxi app for Mauritius. You book a ride from anywhere to anywhere on the island, airport transfers included, choose your driver from a list with the price shown, and follow the ride live on the map.
Who sets the price of a ride?
Each driver sets their own prices, per km or as fixed fares between regions of the island. The app lists every car that can take your ride with its fare, so you see the price before you book.
How do I pay?
You pay the driver at the end of the ride, in the currency you booked in or in rupees. Rides booked by a company or travel agency can be paid from its alé wallet instead.
Can I book a ride ahead?
Yes. Choose the date and time when you book. For a ride to or from the airport, add your flight number too.
What happens if I cancel?
The cancellation terms are on the booking screen before you slide to book, and any fee goes to your driver.
Can I book a ride for someone else?
Yes. Add the person by their email. alé emails them a six-digit code, and once they give it to you, you can book rides for them. They receive every ride email and do not need the app.
